News from the Office of Metropolitan Impact: Engagement Day 2017

UM-Dearborn Engagement Day 2016

Melissa Booth, coordinator for civic engagement, discusses community partnerships during Engagement Day 2016. This year’s planning committee currently is seeking presenters for the Third Annual Engagement Day.

The Office of Metropolitan Impact is excited about the plans coming together for UM-Dearborn’s Third Annual Engagement Day. Faculty, staff and students have all been involved in the planning for this year’s event.

Engagement Day 2017 will take place Thursday, January 19, in the University Center. Focusing on mutually beneficial relationships between campus and community, Engagement Day provides the opportunity to meet students, faculty, staff, and community partners and learn about some of the projects that are changing our region.

Opportunities for service learning, volunteerism and research will be on display. Come learn ways to get engaged on campus and in the community!

This year, Engagement Day will partner with the Tri-Campus Summit, a collaboration between the Ann Arbor, Flint and Dearborn campuses meant to bring together students involved in engagement activities so that they can share their experiences and successes with each other while also exploring ways to further collaboration through engagement across all three campuses.

The Engagement Day Planning Committee is looking for presenters. We are looking for individuals or groups involved in a campus and community relationship with a mutually beneficial outcome. Projects will be displayed through a variety of table displays, posters, interactive displays and oral presentations.
